Before shot of where we decided to add a “clean air hedge” right along the road. This hedge includes cotoneaster - top-rated to improve air quality because of its superpowers to trap airborne particles - as well as many native hedge plants.

In time, living willow hedges can provide a home for birds, insects, and small mammals. They can also absorb carbon from the atmosphere while adding texture and colour to the area.

Why bother adding a pond? Ponds attract a variety of wildlife, including amphibians, reptiles, fish, insects, and birds. Ponds can provide drinking water for mammals, bathing areas for birds, and breeding spaces for frogs, toads, and dragonflies.

We’re all about reusing, recycling and revamping. These wonderful pews were donated to us and thanks to Wood That Works they now look fabulous!

During a visit in November '23 we discovered an unused grassy area that is up for grabs. We have made suggestions to the students and staff and some students drew up some ideas of what the garden could look like. 

Think & Do planted a wonderful native hedge along this fence. We are hoping to complement that by enriching part of the grass with some wildflowers. Watch this space!

Whenever we can, we like to include a little log seating area for students to enjoy. Nature can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and boost mood and happiness. All children & teens need to get access to nature.
